Our visit to Idaho for Christmas this year was awesome! The boys had such a great time. Jonathan's dad Gary was able to take a few days off from work and spend all his time at home playing with the boys. They loved it, especially Dawson. He is Gary's biggest fan.
The boys were able to go on their first mouse hunt with Grandpa Walker. He hides fake mice in the crawl space under the house and the grandkids put on headlamps and go searching for them. It's been a game that they've played for years and our boys were so excited to finally do it. They loved the headlamps and wore them around the house all week.

Gary took us over to a friend's house whose grandson owns a few fun pets. The kids were a little apprehensive at first, but really liked seeing the animals. Here is one of the beautiful turtles.
Mice. Originally purchased for the reptile shown below, but the grandson started to like the mice so he kept some.
Dad, close your eyes! This snake was awesome and Dean was really into it.
Dean's first time skiing! Gary is convinced that as soon as children know how to walk up and down stairs on their own, they are old enough to ski. I don't really know if I believe that, but we were excited to get Dean out there to see if he liked it.
Jonathan said that after his first time down the hill he said "we're going up again??" and wasn't that thrilled, but slowly started to get the hang of it and like it.

And he's all smiles!
All the siblings around Twin came over and we had a Walker grandkid nativity scene. Ardith helped the kids find any kind of costume that would work and they put on quite a show! Dean didn't want to dress up and Dawson was insistent on one particular hat. My favorite are the "3 Kings" and the sheep. And of course Mickey Mouse. Didn't you all know that he made an appearance at Jesus' birth?

Dawson was not happy to leave Twin. Ardith tried to help by giving the kids reindeer glasses, but as you can see, it didn't help Dawson much.
